Alvin Kamara injury update: Saints RB exits early groin injury vs. Commanders image

Saints running back Alvin Kamara wasn't involved in a third-quarter play against the Commanders but notably left the field and went into the medical tent. After a few minutes, he walked to the locker room.

It has since been reported that Kamara is dealing with a groin injury. He was away from the play, wasn't limping, and walked into the tent and into the locker room under his own power. However, he did return to help the Saints' comeback effort in a 20-19 loss to Washington.

Here are the latest updates for Kamara in Week 15.

Alvin Kamara injury updates

Kamara had a crazy receiving touchdown before leaving. The Saints benched Jake Haener for Spencer Rattler, but it was a trick play involving wide receiver Cedrick Wilson throwing a pass that got Kamara the score.

This could have been a play that Kamara tweaked something on, but he came out for the next drive. While he is sidelined, the tandem of Kendre Miller and Jamaal Williams will hold down the backfield.

The Saints deemed Kamara questionable to return, and he's been diagnosed with a groin injury.

Interim head coach Darren Rizzi said in his postgame press conference that the running back tweaked his groin on his touchdown catch. They don't have many details about the extent of the injury and will be conducting more tests.
