Jamie Vardy has accomplished much in his footballing career.

He checked a new box on Saturday for Leicester City.

Vardy found a reason to blow the referee's whistle in the middle of an English Premier League match.

The scene was this: Leicester was taking on relegated Southampton, and midway through the first half, the Foxes' Jordan Ayew accidentally collided with referee David Webb.

Webb went to the ground holding his head while play continued.

Vardy, nearby, headed over to check on Webb, and to stop the play, grabbed Webb's whistle and blew into it himself.

It worked.

Play stopped and medics came to work on Webb, who was making his Premier League debut.

Webb had to be replaced by fourth official Sam Barrott.

It was an eventful day for Vardy, who scored his 144th Premier League goal earlier in the match.

He has 199 goals in his Leicester career overall, and the Foxes got their first win since January.

And now, with Vardy leaving Leicester at the end of the season, maybe he should go into officiating. He'd have the pace for it.
