Jake Ferguson injury update: Cowboys tight end leaves 'MNF' vs. Texans with concussion image

The Cowboys entered Monday night in a difficult position, as quarterback Dak Prescott is out for the season with a hamstring injury. Dallas therefore couldn't afford any other injuries on offense, but the Cowboys lost one of their top talents early on "Monday Night Football."

Tight end Jake Ferguson, who is second on the team in catches and third in receiving yards, left the game early to be evaluated for a concussion. The Cowboys already aren't known for their depth on offense, and it continues to get more shallow as the injuries mount.

Here's the latest on Ferguson's injury against the Texans.

Jake Ferguson injury update

Ferguson was injured early in the game vs. the Texans, leaving the first quarter to be evaluated for a concussion. At that point in the game, Ferguson had caught just one pass for 11 yards in the game before needing to be checked out by medical staff.

Dallas quickly ruled Ferguson out for the game, and he's apparently entered concussion protocol.

On the season Ferguson has 42 catches, which trails just CeeDee Lamb for the team lead, and 358 receiving yards, behind Lamb and Jalen Tolbert for most on the team. However, he has yet to catch a touchdown this season after hauling in five scores last year.
