Originally, the Week 11 Sunday Night Football game was supposed to feature the New York Jets taking on the Indianapolis Colts. With both teams struggling in the first half of the season, the matchup was flexed out of primetime and was replaced with a much better matchup on paper.
The Cincinnati Bengals will fly west to take on the Los Angeles Chargers. The Bengals lost their first three games of the season but have since gone 4-3 to get back in the playoff race. Cincinnati was expected to be in contention for the AFC North title, but now they are striving to build momentum to just make the postseason.
Los Angeles had relatively low expectations this season, even with Jim Harbaugh patrolling the sidelines after winning a national championship at Michigan. L.A. was also re-vamping its offense, as they let Austin Ekeler and Mike Williams hit free agency and traded Keenan Allen to the Chicago Bears. It was supposed to be a rebuilding year for the Chargers, but they have taken advantage of a favorable early-season schedule.
