The Pakistan Cricket Board announced their new list of centrally contracted players for the 2024-25 season which is divided into four categories, A, B, C and D.
In the list are 25 players, 2 in Category A, 3 in Category B, 9 in Category C and 11 in the final category, D and one of the missing names in the central contract is star batter Fakhar Zaman who has been a regular feature in the white-ball formats for the men in green.

Why has Fakhar Zaman been dropped from the PCB central contract list?
Although there is no official word on the matter that why did he not get a central contract, the 34-year-old batter who regularly plays ODIs and T20Is for Pakistan recently made a public statement through his X (formerly Twitter), criticizing the PCB for dropping Babar Azam from the Test squad after a loss against England in Multan.
PCB clearly did not like his social media outrage as they issued a show-cause notice to the southpaw and have now left him out of the contracted players' list.

The other name who has been omitted from the contracts is Imam-Ul-Haq who was in B alongside Fakhar. Shaheen Shah Afridi has been demoted from A to B, and Haris Rauf from B to C. From the D category, Mohammad Nawaz, Hasan Ali, Shahnawaz Dahani, Faheem Ashraf, Iftikhar Ahmed, Ihsanullah, Mohammad Haris, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Usama Mir and Zaman Khan have lost their contracts as well.
On the positive side, Test skipper, Shan got promoted from D to B, Abrar, Noman, Saim, Salman Agha and Shakeel are added to C and Khurram Shahzad, Abbas Afridi, Irfan Khan, Usman Khan and Mohammad Ali have earned the D contracts.
