Which season was the worst?

While CSK’s 2020 campaign was forgettable -- finishing 7th out of 8 teams -- it was the 2022 season that stands out as their worst ever. That year, the team won just 4 out of 14 matches and ended 9th out of 10.

Not only did the team struggle with form but there was also no real momentum at any point. The 2024 season wasn’t great either -- 7 wins in 14 games and they missed the playoffs -- but it still doesn’t match the lows of 2022.

Can 2025 be any worse?

It’s still early days in IPL 2025 but CSK already seem under pressure. A top-order collapse, questions over middle-order intent and back-to-back home losses suggest another tough season might be ahead.
