What is the current playoff scenario for RCB in IPL 2025?
RCB have been in great form as they have won 7 out of their 10 games. That puts them at 14 points and in third place on the points table.
If they win today, they will move up to 16 points and with a few games still left, that could be enough to take them to the playoffs.
On the other side, CSK have not had the best season. They have only won 2 out of 10 games and are already out of the playoff race.
But teams like Mumbai Indians (MI), Gujarat Titans (GT), Delhi Capitals (DC), Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are still in the hunt. They are all in the 10 to 14 points range and hence will hope for RCB to slip up.

Why would a CSK win benefit other teams?
If RCB lose today, they stay at 14 points. That keeps things open for the rest of the teams. It gives teams like DC, PBKS and LSG, who are in the middle of the table, a chance to qualify by winning their remaining games.
RCB haven’t been great at home either, winning just one out of four matches in Bengaluru this season. So a loss here would give other teams a lift.
CSK can’t make the playoffs anymore, but they’ll play for pride and could play spoilsport. They might also return the favour to RCB, who previously beat them at the Chepauk earlier in the season.
