Left-arm pacer, Arshdeep Singh went back to the Punjab Kings for a whopping INR 18 crores in the recent IPL 2025 mega auction and became the most expensive pacer in Jeddah auctions.

Former cricketer Aakash Chopra, who has now turned into a broadcaster and runs a YouTube channel, has justified the speedster's price tag and compared his wicket-taking prowess with that of India's ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah.

Singh recently overtook the likes of Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar to become the second-highest wicket-taker in India's T20I history, just one behind Yuzvendra Chahal.

'He has run ahead of Bumrah' - Aakash Chopra on Arshdeep Singh's T20 bowling

Speaking about the southpaw's price tag in the IPL 2025 mega auction, Chopra said that Arshdeep has overtaken Bumrah when it comes to wicket-taking in T20 cricket and is India's second-best bowler in the shortest format.

"They said at the start that they wanted Arshdeep for ₹18 crore. They would have spent that much only had they retained him. He is a Punjabi and will remain with the Punjabis, and he is very good," he said.

"New ball, old ball, Indian fast bowler, if someone is able to do that consistently after Bumrah, it's Arshdeep. In fact, he has run ahead of even Bumrah in terms of wicket-taking prowess. He remains a little expensive but has run ahead of him because he is a wicket-taker," he concluded.

Chopra also spoke about more different players and their price tags in the same video.
