Manchester United are reportedly closing in on one of Europe’s most exciting young talents, Sverre Nypan.

The 17-year-old Norwegian sensation has been lighting up the field for Rosenborg, and it seems Old Trafford could  become his new home.

Nypan has already achieved impressive numbers for his age, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists in just 60 appearances.

With his contract running until December 2026, Rosenborg might still lose their starlet to a club like United during the January transfer window.

The Red Devils have emerged as favorites, with head coach Ruben Amorim believed to be a strong admirer of the young midfielder.

As per the reports (via  GIVEMESPORT), a fee that could rise to $25 million with add-ons could make Nypan Amorim's first signing since taking charge.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Chelsea are also monitoring the situation, but United seems to have an edge.

Why Sverre Nypan wants to sign for Man United?

Nypan has made no secret of his admiration for Manchester United. In a 2023 interview, he said, “I’ve always been a Manchester United fan. It’s the dream.”

His agent, Rafaela Pimenta, who recently orchestrated moves for Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt to United, is reportedly pushing for this transfer to materialize.

The young Norwegian is also seeking assurances over playing time to ensure his career continues to grow.

Known for his versatility, Nypan can play as a central midfielder or a number 10, making him a perfect fit for Amorim’s tactical system.

With multiple clubs circling, United are looking to finalize the deal quickly. If the move goes through, Nypan could become one of the Premier League's breakout stars.
