Jos Buttler IPL 2024

Jos Buttler hit a match-winning century to help Rajasthan Royals (RR) claim victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The England opener scored an unbeaten 107 off 60 deliveries to guide his team over the finishing line.

This is Buttler's second century of IPL 2024, both coming during run chases. Buttler scored a 100* against Royal Challengers Bengaluru to help his team win a close encounter earlier in the season.

However, the century against KKR is regarded as higher, with the odds going against the 33-year-old. Wickets kept tumbling at one end, as Buttler could not help but watch everything unfold from the non-striker's end.

With little support facing a 224-run target, Buttler took matters in his own hands, and stayed from the first till the last ball of the match. The England skipper has been praised, in turn as a mockery towards Mumbai Indians' opener, Rohit Sharma.

'Jos Buttler shows Rohit Sharma how it's done'

X user Sushant Mehta, a podcaster, slammed Rohit Sharma for the way he batted against CSK as his century was not enough to chase down a 200-plus total.

He compared the Indian captain's innings with Buttler's innings against KKR as he felt Sharma should learn thing or two from the Englishman.

Jos Buttler showing Rohit Sharma what a selfless chase means, did it all alone with wickets falling all around him, a user praised Buttler over Rohit Sharma after his knock vs KKR.

What did Ben Stokes say about Jos Buttler's knock against KKR?

England Test captain, Ben Stokes complimented his compatriot Jos Buttler for his gritty knock against KKR at the Eden Gardens. Stokes stated how he would have been surprised in case Buttler failed to chase the 224-run target.

Genuinly would have been more surprised if Buttler didn’t finish that game off when Powell got out, that’s how good the man is, Stokes stated on X.

Stokes claimed he had faith in RR opener's cricketing ability, more so after the departure of Rovman Powell - team's last recognised batter.

(Buttler's) his ability to read game situations and take emotion out of it is what set’s him apart, the former RR player added.
