Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, attended a fan-engagement event in Bengaluru and ended up suffering through a microphone malfunction.

A video of Gaikwad's hilarious response to a mic malfunction at the same event has gone viral over the internet. While the exact details of the event are yet to be revealed, Gaikwad was seen on stage alongside an anchor who welcomed the India cricketer with grace and respect.

The fierce rivalry between Indian Premier League (IPL) outfits CSK and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), is a historic one. It only spiced up a level, when the latter knocked out the former from the IPL playoffs race, earlier this year.

While most touted that game as MS Dhoni's final IPL game, 'Thala' will play the upcoming IPL 2025 as an uncapped player. 

Meanwhile, the CSK skipper gave a hilarious response to the Bengaluru crowd present at the event on Thursday.

What did Ruturaj Gaikwad say after a mic malfunction at Bengaluru event?

The anchor greeted Gaikwad on the dias and while there were cheers for the Indian opener, when he tried to respond to the anchor, his mic was not working. And his response to the mic malfunction got the crowd howling in laughter. 

"How can you turn off Ruturaj's mic?”, the anchor said jokingly to the sound engineer. 

“Might be someone from RCB”, Gaikwad replied as the crowd at the event erupted in laughter.

What next for Ruturaj Gaikwad?

Gaikwad is set to lead his state, Maharashtra, in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024/25. Being placed in Group B, Maharashtra play their tournament-opener against Rajasthan on Saturday, December 21, 2024.

The fans can watch Gaikwad in action from 09:00 AM at the MCA Cricket Ground in Bandra, Mumbai.
