Rajasthan Royals are set to take on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in match number 19 of IPL this season at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday evening.

RR have looked like one of the favourites for the playoffs in the early stage of the season. Their first two matches were won by the batters, as they put up scores of 193 and 185 respectively.

In the third game against Mumbai Indians, their bowlers came to the party to restrict the five-time champions to just 125. They are looking like a well-oiled machine.

By contrast, RCB have endured a difficult start to the season. They were limited to an under-par score against CSK in their first match, before bouncing back with a come-from-behind win against PBKS. Since then, however, they have been soundly defeated in a couple of home games versus KKR and LSG.

RR vs RCB: Pitch Report

The stadium has a bowling-friendly pitch, which favours both pace and spin. Only two teams have ever crossed the 200-mark at this stadium in IPL history and only once has a batsman scored a 100. The boundaries are also bigger than most venues in India. The team winning the toss is expected to bowl first as the pitch always has something to offer for the pacers in the first few overs.

"This has been a 180-kind of a surface. A big venue though. 69m and 63m square boundaries and 76m down the ground. It's a hard surface with a bit of grass cover on it, looks well prepared. You'll get high scoring games at this venue and the batters will relish batting here. Something in it for the fast bowlers as they'll get some extra bounce with the new ball. The spinners will get some turn as well. It looks a bit patchy with a few dry areas. The big boundaries are an encouraging sign for the spinners. Win the toss, bat first," Deep Dasgupta stated on air.

RR vs RCB: Prediction

On paper, this is a one-sided contest. RR have won three in three, while RCB are coming off the back of consecutive home losses in a year which has been heavily tilted in favour of home teams. The visitors need to do something different, and drafting in Will Jacks to pack the batting could give them a slightly better chance. However, it will still be an uphill task to defeat the clear favourites in this matchup, who look to have all their bases covered in terms of both planning and execution.
