A place in the UEFA Europa Conference League is up for grabs as the Premier League season enters the home stretch.

Manchester United hosts Newcastle on Wednesday, May 15 at Old Trafford in Stretford, England. If the season ended today, Newcastle would qualify for the Europa Conference League with 57 points and the tiebreaker over Chelsea, but trailing by only three points, Man United has a chance to overtake both Chelsea and Newcastle with a strong end of the season. Interestingly, Chelsea will be playing at the same time as Man United and Newcastle, so it could lead to some interesting back-and-forth moments as fans and players keep and eye on either game.

Man United are however in a rut to end the season. Erik ten Hag's side have only won once in his team's last eight league games, dating back to mid-March. The injury crisis at Old Trafford continues to plague the club, and the center-back duo of Jonny Evans and Casemiro hasn't provided any solutions. Wednesday's match may be a chance for Ten Hag to make some changes to find three key points.

Newcastle have also dealt with a ton of injuries this year, including a pair of ACL tears to center-backs Jamaal Lascelles and Sven Botman. But finishing with a place in Europe, after a rough first half of the season, will bring some relief to the club and its fans.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this game, including how to watch it across the world, kickoff times and the latest lineup news.

Man United vs. Newcastle lineups, team news

Man United coach Erik ten Hag told reporters this week that center-back Lisandro Martinez could return to the starting lineup for this mid-week matchup after missing the last six weeks with a calf injury. Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes could also see their returns against Newcastle.

Man United predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Onana (GK) — Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Wan-Bissaka — McTominay, Mainoo — Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford — Hojlund.

Man United subs (9): TBC

Newcastle midfielders Miguel Almiron and Joelington returned to action last weekend and should play a role, either starting — or off the bench — at Old Trafford.

Newcastle predicted XI (4-4-2, right to left): Dubravka (GK) — Livramento, Krafth, Burn, Hall — Murphy, Longstaff, Guimaraes, Almiron — Isak, Wilson.

Newcastle subs (9): TBC

Man United vs. Newcastle prediction

Man United and Newcastle have both struggled with injuries this season, but Newcastle getting back some of their stars at this point of the season is a good sign. Add to it that the team is playing with confidence after wins over relegated sides Sheffield United and Burnley and Newcastle should get it done on the road.

Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Man United
