Sunrisers Hyderabad are set to take on the reigning champions, Chennai Super Kings in match number 18 of IPL this season at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Friday evening.

Both teams incurred a loss in their previous game. SRH suffered a 7-wicket loss to the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi stadium while CSK lost by 20 runs to the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the ACA-VDCA stadium in Visakhapatnam.

Hyderabad are currently placed sixth in the table with a single win and two losses in three games while the Chennai Super Kings are third in the table, just below the likes of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) who have been undefeated in their three games so far this season.

SRH vs CSK: Pitch Report

The pitch at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium is a batting-friendly pitch with high scores being a common outcome at the venue. The last time Sunrisers Hyderabad played here, they posted a record-breaking total of 277 runs in 20 overs for the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians to chase. The pitch provides very little to the bowlers and would have to work hard in order to take wickets.

"It's Match 18 and it's SRH v CSK. One side is slightly bigger then the other. Both square boundaries are sub-70-m, the straight boundary is slightly bigger. It's a different surface tonight, but there are a lot of runs. Some visible cracks, but it's not going to affect the game. The captain winning the toss would like to bat first. Even 200 on this pitch isn't a safe score and the batting team will be disappointed at their effort," Brian Lara and Samuel Badree stated in their pitch report of the game.
