The Indian team gears up for a crucial Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting from November 22 in Perth and were set to play a three-day intra-squad game ahead of the series.

However, the three-day match between India and India A at the WACA has been cancelled by the BCCI hierarchy ahead of the team leaving for Australia.

The India A side is already in Australia, playing an FC game against Australia A at Macay and looks in a good position as after getting all out for 107 on day 1, they bundled Australia A for 195 and currently leading by 38 runs. The Indian main team will leave for Australia after they finish the third Test of the series against New Zealand.

Why is India vs India A intra-squad match cancelled?

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, the BCCI hierarchy has opted out from playing the intra-squad game because they are now planning to train on the scheduled days and will be having net sessions and getting into match simulation scenes at the WACA, on the centre wicket.

Australia will also be training at WACA centre wicket following India's stint at the WACA after India's stint in the stadium as told by Steve Smith.

"Going to be some good centre wickets with our boys bowling in Perth, in similar conditions to what you're going to get at Optus Stadium. Probably going to be enough," Steven Smith said about preparing with centre wicket practice at the WACA.
