The Indian Premier League (IPL) retentions have been announced, and all teams have put their best foot forward in the build-up to the mega auction. IPL 2025 will be played after the ICC Champions Trophy, but the franchises have started with the groundwork already.

A total of 46 players (both Indian and overseas) were retained by all ten franchises combined on the deadline day on October 31. While most teams have opted to use maximum retention slots ahead of the auctions, some have chosen otherwise.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma is one of the highest earners out of the retention slots. The 36-year-old has racked up a total sum of 16.30 Crores as his retention value. However, some players would earn more than India's former T20I captain.

Here is the list of players who are set to earn the highest salaries in IPL 2025 (from retained players).

Who is the highest paid player in IPL 2025 among retained players?

Sunrisers Hyderabad's Heinrich Klassen is the highest-paid player, heading into the IPL 2025 mega auction! Yes, you heard it right, it is not Virat Kohli.

Klaasen is offered a heroic sum of INR 23 Crores by the Hyderabad-based outfit, who have instilled utmost faith in the Protean after a stellar outing in IPL 2024.

It has to be noted that Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya will earn more than Sharma, despite him being the franchise's most decorated player. Kohli, on the other hand, will receive a substantially high salary at RCB compared to the Indian Test and ODI skipper.
