When RCB captain Faf du Plessis was asked about the changes in the team, he responded by saying that English batsman Will Jacks was brought in to the side in place of the underperforming Cameron Green.
The decision to drop Green seemed justified based on the Australian all-rounder's meagre returns with both bat and ball. But it begs the question, did RCB make a mistake by dropping Green in a match at the Wankhede Stadium?
Green made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut in 2023 aInd was a member of the Mumbai Indians squad. Roped in for INR 17.5 crore, he became MI's most expensive signing ever.
The Aussie was one of MI's best players last season as the team made it to the playoffs. Green scored over 450 runs and chipped in with the ball, too, taking six wickets.
In this piece, The Sporting News takes a look at Green's record at the Wankhede Stadium.
