The 2024 IPL season is upon us, and the runs have begun to flow already.
This year's tournament has seen some scarcely believable scoring rates, with the 250 barrier being breached on multiple occasions. On April 26, Punjab Kings went a step further to record the highest-ever chase in T20 history as they scored 262/2 against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Most scores of 250 and above in a season: IPL 2024 continues to smash records
This season has seen a massive spike in huge totals, with the 250-run mark being breached on eight occasions so far. Prior to this season, this had been achieved just twice in 16 years. With 25 totals over 200, this year will likely also smash the 2023 record of 37 in a season.

Which team scored the highest total in IPL history?
SRH scored the highest-ever total in IPL's history when they posted a total of 287 runs for the loss of three wickets in 2024 against Royal Challengers. They broke their own record, which they set earlier in the season after smashing 277/3 against Mumbai Indians.
