Virat Kohli was at 18 off just six balls, with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) getting a good start after Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) posted 222 runs in the first innings, scoring 27 runs in two overs.
Harshit Rana came back to bowl his second over and Kohli was on strike. However, Rana dished out a full toss as Kohli tried to make room.

The ball came at an awkward height for Kohli, and in order to evade the delivery, he ended up defending it. The ball took a leading edge and fell straight into the hands of the bowler.
Kohli immediately asked for a review, for he believed that the ball was clearly above the waist height. The 35-year-old thought it was a no ball and not a fair delivery. However, the umpires had already referred to the TV umpire.
The TV replays showed that Kohli was standing slightly outside the crease, and that the ball would have dipped enough to be below the waist height had he been inside the crease, prompting the third umpire, Michael Gough, to stay with the decision of 'out'.
Kohli was extremely furious. He had a heated argument with the on-field umpires, trying to explain why he thought it shouldn't have been given out, before walking back angrily.

'Unfair call' - Mohammad Kaif slams Virat Kohli wicket during KKR vs RCB match
Kohli was not the only one unhappy with the dismissal. After the match, former India international Mohammad Kaif took to social media to express his thoughts on the dismissal, calling it an 'unfair call'. He also went on to question the IPL's decision to use ball-tracking technology to determine these calls.
My take on Virat Kohli dismissal: It's an unfair call. If the ball is waist high at the time bat meets ball it should ruled as no ball. Also I have always felt that the ball tracking shows a sharper dip.

Virat Kohli fined 50% of his match fee for dissent
Following RCB's one-run loss against KKR on Sunday, Kohli was sanctioned 50% of his match fee for violating IPL's Code of Conduct.
Following the decision that he was out, Kohli approached the umpires and engaged in an argument, expressing his sheer fury.
Was Virat Kohli wrongly given out? Explaining the 'above waist height' no ball rule
According to the rules by Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), if the ball is above the waist height at the time when the batsman makes contact with the ball, then it has to be adjudged a no ball.
Ahead of IPL 2024, the league introduced a new technology wherein the Hawk-Eye technology would analyse the trajectory of the ball to end the debate surrounding above-waist no balls.
Per ESPNcricinfo, Hawk-Eye has a database of the waist heights of all the players in IPL 2024. Using that data, along with the technology itself, Hawk-Eye accurately deduces the trajectory of the ball and the height which it would be at when it passes the batsman at the popping crease.
According to the visuals during the TV replays for Kohli's dismissal, the ex-RCB skipper's waist height is 1.04m.
However, the ball would have met him at 0.92m from the ground had he been inside the crease, which is why it was a fair delivery according to the third umpire.
According to the 3rd umpire, Virat Kohli was outside his crease.
