What did Shahid Afridi say that created so much anger?

Afridi was speaking on a Pakistani news channel when he started pointing fingers at India. He said India always blames Pakistan whenever something bad happens in Kashmir.

He also mocked the Indian media and asked why such attacks keep happening despite a large army presence in the region.

“Even if a cracker bursts there, you blame Pakistan. You have an eight lakh-strong army in Kashmir, yet this happened. This means your Army is useless for not being able to protect your people,” Afridi told Samaa TV.

How did Shikhar Dhawan respond to Afridi?

Shikhar Dhawan was clearly upset by Afridi's words. He jumped straight to social media and posted a sharp reply.

In his message, Dhawan reminded Afridi of the Kargil War, where India had defeated Pakistan. He told Afridi to stop making useless comments and focus on fixing his own country.

"Kargil mein bhi haraya tha, already itna gire hue ho aur kitna giroge, bewajah comments pass karne se acha hai apne desh ki taraqqi mai dimag lagao. Humein hamari Indian Army par bohot garv hai. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind!" Dhawan posted.

Many Indian fans and even some public figures have backed Dhawan for speaking up. At a time when the country is mourning, Afridi’s remarks felt like an insult to not just the Army but to the victims too.
