Marcus Rashford has dropped a bombshell about his future at Manchester United, leaving fans and the football world buzzing with questions.

In a recent interview, Rashford suggested he might be ready for a "new challenge," sparking rumors of a possible move as early as the January transfer window.

United’s head coach, Ruben Amorim, was quick to respond. Despite the speculation, Amorim insists Rashford remains central to his plans.

Speaking ahead of the EFL Cup quarterfinal clash against Tottenham, Amorim offered his interpretation of Rashford’s statement, viewing it as a commitment to tackling Manchester United’s current challenges.

What Ruben Amorim said about Marcus Rashford

Amorim told reporters that he would be keen for Rashford to stick around. “Of course, because this kind of club needs big talent and he’s a big talent, so he just needs to perform at the highest level and that is my focus. I just want to help Marcus,” he said

Amorim added that his focus is solely on helping Rashford rediscover his best form, emphasizing how much the team benefits from having him at his peak.

However, Rashford’s omission from the squad for last weekend's Manchester derby raised questions. Alejandro Garnacho was also absent, though Amorim clarified that neither player was injured.

When asked if Rashford and Garnacho would feature against Tottenham, Amorim revealed he would make his decision after their final training session.

Is this the end for Rashford at Man United?

Reports suggest United might consider selling Rashford for as little as £40 million in January, with Paris Saint-Germain leading the race for his signature. A move to Saudi Arabia has also been rumored.

While Amorim avoided commenting on a potential sale, it’s hard to see Rashford staying long-term after the latest episode to cast doubt on his future.

Both sides may need a fresh start, allowing United to plan for a future without the homegrown star who was once the jewel of their academy.
