Former New Zealand captain, Kane Williamson after missing the first two Tests of New Zealand's tour of India in Bengaluru and Pune, will also be missing the third and final Test of the series in Mumbai as he fails to recover from the injury in time.
Williamson had suffered a groin injury during the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, just before heading to India and was subsequently replaced by Mark Chapman, initially for the first game then the second and now the third game.

“Kane continues to show good signs, but isn’t quite ready to jump on a plane and join us,” said the head coach, Gary Stead.
While things are looking promising, we think the best course of action is for him to stay in New Zealand and focus on the final part of his rehabilitation so he’ll be good to go for England. The England series is still a month away so taking the cautious approach now will ensure he is ready for the first Test in Christchurch,” he added.
The final India vs New Zealand Test in Mumbai will begin on Friday, November 1, after the visitors already sealing their historic first series win in India in Pune.
