Get ready to hear "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on repeat.

Mariah Carey, a six-time Grammy Award winner, is set to perform before some Christmas Day football on Wednesday. She'll sing before the Chiefs and Steelers, two Super Bowl contenders in the AFC, face off on Netflix.

Being one of the most well-known pop singers in the country and owning one of the most famous holiday songs out there, some may be wondering how Carey's Netflix performance came together.

Here's what you need to know about why Carey will sing before Chiefs vs. Steelers on Christmas.

Why is Mariah Carey performing before Chiefs vs. Steelers on Christmas?

Netflix announced on Dec. 12 that Carey would help open the Chiefs vs. Steelers matchup, which is the first of two NFL games set to air on the streaming service on Christmas Day.

Carey's performance is sure to include "All I Want For Christmas Is You," an annual holiday hit she originally released in 1994. That song is a significant reason the NFL and Netflix wanted Carey to perform, as Netflix's press release called it an "inescapable Christmas tune" while announcing it's "only fitting" that Carey would then open the football festivities.

However, don't expect to see Carey in Acrisure Stadium performing live. Fans at the game won't be able to watch her sing, as the performance will be pre-recorded for the Netflix stream only, per the company's press release.

While Carey's performance will be taped ahead of time, Beyonce's halftime performance during Ravens vs. Texans in the later NFL game will be live in Houston.

The Chiefs vs. Steelers game is scheduled to kick off at 1 p.m. ET on Christmas Day. Because Carey's performance will come before the game, expect to see her on your Netflix stream sometime in the hour leading up to the highly anticipated AFC matchup.

Netflix hasn't announced an official time that Carey will perform, so fans should keep their eyes out for the famed singer on their screen (and their ears peeled for "All I Want For Christmas Is You") leading up to the game.
