Aaron Rodgers is still a free agent.

What's new?

The future Hall of Fame QB's offseason saga doesn't have a clear endpoint in sight.

For a while, it seemed like the Pittsburgh Steelers were his only option left. But now, a "mystery team" might be involved, according to Rodgers' former Packers teammate, A.J. Hawk.

“I think there is a wild card team out there,” Hawk said on The Pat McAfee Show. “Is there a wild card team out there that’s like, ‘Oh wow!’ Maybe there's a quarterback out there... Not gonna mention any names, who maybe has a subtle injury that people don't know about. A starting quarterback on a team out there that has an injury that we don't know about. Maybe he's waiting for that."

There are two possibilities here.

Hawk might be referring to the Saints, where Derek Carr just was announced as facing an extended absence with a shoulder injury.

He could also legitimately just be speculating that Rodgers is waiting for a different option that Pittsburgh, one that isn't even open yet.

We'll all just have to wait and see.

Nobody has talked about Rodgers retiring in a while. Maybe that's the wild card. Who knows at this point?
