The 2025 NFL Draft will begin on Thursday, April 24, as teams hope to find the next stars of the game to help turn around their franchise.
Heading into this year's draft, every team owns its first-round pick, the first time this has happened since 2002. After the first round, though, the draft will be all over the place.
Every team starts out with seven draft picks in a given draft, one for each of the seven rounds. Unlike the MLB, teams in the NFL are free to trade draft picks. Typically, teams use their draft picks in trade packages to either acquire players or move up during the draft to take a prospect they really like. There isn't a limit on how many picks a team can have, but the more that a team acquires, the larger its rookie salary pool.

A week out from the draft, the most picks any team has in the 2025 NFL Draft is 11. Both the Ravens and 49ers have 11 selections. The Seahawks, Dolphins, Chargers, Jaguars, Cowboys, Browns, and Bills all have 10 selections each. Baltimore's selections are deeper in the draft, with eight picks scheduled for day three of the draft. San Francisco is projected to pick four times in the first three rounds.

Who has the fewest picks in the 2025 NFL Draft?
The Vikings currently have the fewest draft picks in this year's draft with four. The Commanders and Falcons have five draft picks each, while the Cardinals, Bengals, Buccaneers and Steelers have six. Minnesota will pick 24th overall, and then in the third, fifth and sixth rounds unless they make moves to acquire more draft capital.
