Jonathan Kuminga is due to see the floor.
But whether the Golden State Warriors actually give him that chance anytime soon against the Houston Rockets is a total unknown.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr provided some insight into how the coaching staff views Kuminga right now, as part of pregame comments on Tuesday.
"Jonathan [Kuminga] has been fantastic. His attitude, his energy on the bench, cheering guys on, staying ready. He's a great, great young guy," Kerr said on Willard & Dibs. "This has been tough on him, but he's doing exactly what he should be doing, which is staying ready."
The Jimmy Butler trade before the deadline has changed Kuminga's role drastically.
It seems the Warriors simply don't want to play him with Draymond Green and Butler on the floor.

At this point, all he can do is hold onto mantras that may or may not come to fruition.
"I've told him, and our coaches have told him things can change in a heartbeat in the NBA," Kerr said. "He's got to just be ready for when his time comes and that's exactly what he's doing. I would be surprised if at some point his time doesn't come. When you're in a good groove, you just keep doing what you're doing and then you adjust as you go."
The Warriors play Game 2 in Houston on Wednesday night.
Kuminga's availability is uncertain. He's not hurt, just simply not getting in the games.
Will that change? Only time will tell.
