Panthers rookie tight end Ja'Tavion Sanders exited Sunday afternoon's game vs. the Chiefs after he landed awkwardly on his head.

The injury occurred late in the first half as Carolina drove into the red zone. After receiving a pass from Bryce Young, Sanders ran out of bounds to stop the clock and was upended by a Chiefs defender. Sanders landed on his head and needed assistance after laying motionless.

There was no penalty called on the play, but both teams were on the field to support Sanders.

A backboard and cart were brought out to take Sanders off the field. Here's what is known about his injury.
