The Las Vegas Raiders did not draft a quarterback in the 2025 NFL draft until the sixth round, which was at least a little surprising considering many expected the Raiders to draft one earlier.

Those two sixth-round quarterbacks were North Dakota State's Cam Miller and Montana State's Tommy Mellott, both of whom are dual-threat signal-callers.

Now, the Raiders are adding a third freak athlete at the position in the form of UNLV quarterback, Hajj-Malik Williams, who was signed as an undrafted free agent following the end of the draft on Saturday.

In 2024, his lone year at UNLV, Williams flashed his impressive athleticism with a whopping 851 rushing yards and nine scores. He also threw for 1,941 yards and 19 touchdowns to five picks while completing 59.5% of his passes.

Prior to his year at UNLV, Williams attended Campbell University, where he broke the school's career passing yards (8,236) and touchdowns (58) marks.

So, what's with all these freak athlete quarterbacks the Raiders are bringing in?

Well, the team might be looking for a gadget quarterback for Chip Kelly's offense and/or simply a young signal-caller to develop behind the scenes throughout the season in the hopes of finding a diamond in the rough.

Of course, Miller, Mellott and Williams are all going to have a tough time cracking the roster with Geno Smith and Aidan O'Connell occupying the top-two spots at quarterback, and with 2024 UDFA Carter Bradley also in the mix.

However, Miller, Mellott, Williams and Bradley will all have an opportunity to make it on the practice squad, where they can continue their development and serve as a deep emergency quarterback.

And, who knows, maybe one of them gets a shot as a backup to Smith if O'Connell gets traded at some point.
