Cam Skattebo had only one Division I scholarship offer out of high school.

That was from the Sacramento State Hornets at the FCS level. He eventually parlayed that into an opportunity at Arizona State.

And with the Sun Devils, he shone bright, so bright that he earned himself an NFL Draft pick at No. 105 overall by the New York Giants in the fourth round on Saturday.

Here's what you need to know about Skattebo:

Who is Cam Skattebo?

Cam Skattebo is a 5-foot-9, 219-pound running back out of Rio Linda, California.

As a high school junior, Skattebo was a state champion with 3,550 yards and 42 touchdowns.

Skattebo spent his first two college seasons at Sacramento State. In 2022, he ran for 1,382 yards and seven touchdowns, prompting his entry into the transfer portal and subsequent move to ASU.

Cam Skattebo college stats

Skattebo was a good player in his first season at Arizona State.

In his second, he was a superstar.

Skattebo ran for 1,711 yards in 2024 on 5.8 yards per carry. He scored 21 touchdowns on the ground.

He also caught 45 passes for 605 yards and three more scores, and he completed a huge pass during ASU's CFP near-comeback.

Cam Skattebo quads

Move over Saquon Barkley. There's a new quad sherrif in town.

Skattebo's legs are absolutely massive.

His bruising build led to only a 4.66-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, but he's also very, very tough to bring down.

Cam Skattebo pronunciation

Skattebo's last name isn't pronounced how you might think.

In colloquial words, it's more like "scat" "a" "boo."

It's a lot easier to say he's a star. And in the NFL, he'll have a chance to be just that.
