Post-game press conferences in sports can vary. Sometimes the coach or players do their best to stay middle of the road and not give too much emotion or much insight into what went right or wrong during the prior game.

Sometimes, though, there are moments that happen in post-game press conferences that go viral. Coaches walking off the podium mid-question, players giving eye-opening answers, or even kids being involved. It seems to mainly happen with NBA players, but sometimes we are graced with the presence of their children. These appearances sometimes just have a cute kid joining their parents. Other times, the child completely steals the show on stage in front of the media and all of the cameras.

Stephen Curry and the Warriors made it to the Western Conference Finals in 2015. After winning a close Game 1, Curry was doing his post-game press conference but was joined by his daughter Riley. She sat on his lap, but proceeded to go viral with how cute she was and what she did during the press conference.

Riley Curry press conference 2015

The Warriors made the Western Conference Finals in the 2014-2015 NBA season. It was the first time Golden State had made the conference finals since the 1975-1976 season. The Warriors faced the Rockets in the Western Conference Finals and won Game 1 110-106. Curry finished with 34 points, but that fell to the wayside when his daughter, Riley, joined the post-game press conference. She was two months shy of her third birthday and stole the show.

Her laugh had the press cracking up, and then she had a very big yawn. Riley then started waving at people in the crowd. At one point, she got under the table and emerged with the tablecloth draped over her. She saw her mom in the crowd, squealed, and then went to see her. When Riley got to the end of the table, however, she hid behind the end and then played peek-a-boo with Steph, who was still mid-press conference.

Golden State beat Houston 4-1 to advance to the NBA Finals. It was the first matchup they had with the LeBron James-led Cavaliers. The Warriors won the series 4-2 for their first championship since 1975.

While it feels like Curry's press conference moment was just yesterday, it was nearly 10 years ago. We haven't seen much of her in her father's recent press conferences and she has largely been out of the public eye outside of the occasional family pictures on Instagram.

Curry was seen cheering on her dad alongside her mom after Golden State beat Memphis in their 2025 Play-In Tournament game to clinch the overall No. 7 seed in the first round of the playoffs. It took a second for fans to realize that was Riley alongside her mom, but when it clicked, the clip went viral as fans realized how much she has grown since that press conference.

Does Riley Curry play basketball?

Curry's parents have had her play in a variety of sports already. It seems like she is leaving basketball for her dad, and is instead pursuing volleyball. She has reportedly found a passion for the sport and her father Steph said, "a light bulb went off, actually this year, where she's excited to go to practice and dribbling or passing the ball around the house and all that type of stuff."
