The San Francisco 49ers want to move up in the NFL Draft, according to a report from The Athletic.

After a disappointing season, the 49ers sit at No. 11 in next week's first round.

They could have a willing trade partner at No. 7 in the New York Jets.

"San Francisco needs help at offensive tackle (Armand Membou, Will Campbell), edge rusher (Jalon Walker) and defensive tackle (Mason Graham)," The Athletic's Zach Rosenblatt writes.

Those would all be awesome pieces for the 49ers to wind up with.

The problem comes with their projected draft slots.

Campbell, Walker and Graham likely will all be off the board before No. 11, and Membou could be, too.

That leaves the 49ers seeking a chance to get into the top-10 to nab one of them.

Unless the Jets are sold on one of those same, names, they could probably pick up a third-round pick to drop down four slots and help the 49ers out in the process.

It could be a win-win, if the draft board falls just right.

If the Jets are targeting an offensive skill position player, though, it could be a tougher move.

A QB like Shedeur Sanders or Jaxson Dart, or maybe WR Tetairoa McMillan, isn't a guarantee to be there further down the board (Dart likely would, but QB need always wins out over QB perceived cost).

But four picks doesn't seem like a lot. The Jets could likely benefit from the extra selection, and maybe the 49ers turnaround with a big contract coming soon to Brock Purdy could really use a rookie stud on a cheap contract.
