Trade proposal sends Giannis Antetokounmpo to Eastern Conference powerhouse image

Giannis Antetokounmpo has spent his entire career with the Milwaukee Bucks after the franchise selected him 15th overall in the 2013 NBA Draft. While he led them to their second title in franchise history in 2021, they have won just one postseason series in the four years since then.

That lone series victory came back in 2022, and they are now on the verge of being bounced in the first round for the third consecutive season as they are in a 3-1 deficit against the Indiana Pacers. There has been plenty of speculation that the two-time NBA MVP could ask for a trade this summer.

While much of that chatter has focused on sending him to younger teams, a recent proposal emerged that could pair Antetokounmpo with two Eastern Conference All-Stars, forming a super team. FanDuel Sportsbook took to X to suggest that the New York Knicks acquire the nine-time All-Star, tweeting:

"Imagine Jalen Brunson, GIANNIS & (Karl Anthony Towns) Should the Knicks & Bucks make this trade to send the Greek Freak to NYC if he requests a trade this summer?  #NewYorkForever | #FearTheDeer"

The package proposed would send Mikal Bridges, Josh Hart, Mitchell Robinson and first-round picks in 2026 and 2030 to Milwaukee. It is unclear if the Bucks would have any interest in such a deal as trading Antetokounmpo would signal the start of a lengthy rebuilding process.

New York, who have a 3-1 lead over the Detroit Pistons in their first-round matchup, would likely jump at the possibility of pairing the superstar with Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns. Antetokounmpo is just 30 years old and is coming off of yet another dominant regular season.

The 2020 Defensive Player of the Year averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.2 blocks per game while shooting 60.1% from the field. He will likely finish in the top four in MVP voting for the seventh consecutive season. If the Knicks are able to land Antetokounmpo - while also keeping Brunson, Towns and OG Anunoby - they would likely enter next season as the favorites to win their first title in over five decades.
