Sports commentator Bomani Jones made some tremendous points on his X account on Saturday morning in regards to Shedeur Sanders' NFL Draft slide.

The wildest, on paper, may have been comparing Sanders to Gardner Minshew.

But there's some logic here.

Jones started off by pointing out the flaw in mock drafts. Most are based in projection, but not necessarily in knowledge of what teams are actually thinking, Jones said.

That got some pushback, with replies rattling off Sanders' stats to Jones.

Jones had the perfect clapback.

Sanders does have a very different pedigree than Minshew, but that doesn't always matter, either.

The difference between Sanders and Minshew is that no one projected Minshew as a first-round pick.

But now that we've reached the final day of the draft, the parallel may make more sense than would initially meet the eye.
