As UFC sets its eye to return to Sydney for UFC 312, an Australian fighter is seemingly ready for a highly anticipated matchup. According to reports, Jack Della Maddalena has verbally agreed to take on former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman.
The reports were seemingly confirmed by the Australian when he took to his Instagram stories to repost a claim about the same. Maddalena is one of the most touted names in the welterweight division right now and is considered to be a future champion by many.

Holding a professional record of 17-2, while he has been in the octagon against dangerous fighters like Gilbert Burns and Kevin Holland, Usman is on an entirely different level. Despite being on the end of a three-fight losing streak, the former champion still ranks amongst the best in the world.

Usman has been out of action since October 2023 and fans are eagerly waiting for his return to the Octagon. That said, it remains to be seen if the fight actually gets made as the UFC is yet to officially announce the fight.

It was recently revealed that the UFC would be heading back to Australia on 9th February for UFC 312. The pay-per-view event will take place at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.
While the information about tickets for the event has not been released, fans can pre-register on the official website of the UFC. As far as the fight card for the event goes, there is no official confirmation from the promotion just yet. However, apart from a potential fight between Maddalena and Usman, we might also see Alexander Volkanovski return to the Octagon.
Former UFC featherweight champion Volkanovski would certainly love to fight on home soil after previously losing his title against Ilia Topuria in February this year.
