Carmelo Anthony will be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2025, according to ESPN's Shams Charania.
Anthony was announced as a finalist for the Hall of Fame in February. He retired from the NBA after the 2021-22 season following a 19-year playing career with six different teams, and gets in during his first year on the ballot.
Anthony was a 10-time All-Star and one of the most prolific scorers of his generation. He was selected third overall by the Nuggets in the 2003 NBA Draft after leading Syracuse to its first NCAA national championship as a freshman. Anthony averaged 22.5 points per game in his career and ranks 10th all-time in the NBA in scoring with 28,289 points.

Who is in the Basketball Hall of Fame class of 2025?
Anthony will be inducted this year as part of a loaded class that includes other legendary players, coaches and teams. No other inductees have been announced yet, but the group of finalists includes names like Dwight Howard, Mark Few, Billy Donovan and the entire 2008 U.S. Olympic Men's Basketball team. Notable names on the women's side include Sue Bird and Maya Moore.
Anthony was expected to get into the Hall of Fame on his first try. He earned All-NBA honors six times and led the league in scoring in 2012-13 (28.7 points per game). He won three straight Olympic gold medals (2008, 2012, 2016) as a key member of Team USA and was named to the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.
