Thanksgiving brings good food and, hopefully, good times with family and friends. It also comes with three NFL games. Specifically, three games get their own primetime slot throughout the day, giving fans a full football schedule on the holiday.

Each game has many festivities, including honoring all the camera crew and staff. While there is usually some form of halftime show during all NFL games, concerts lead the way on Thanksgiving. They are typically shorter than the Super Bowl halftime show, but tend to be longer than the normal halftime.

Violinist Lindsey Stirling has the honor of playing the halftime show as the Dolphins take on the Packers on Thanksgiving. Here's what fans should know about Stirling as she takes the field.

Who is Lindsey Stirling?

Stirling was born in 1986 and began studying violin as a child. She created a YouTube channel in 2007 and started uploading videos. Stirling created her own music, covering the classical, rock, pop and electronic genres.

She's collaborated with musical artists like Pentatonix, Amy Lee (the lead singer of Evanescence), Sabrina Carpenter and John Legend. Stirling was also a contestant on the fifth season of "America's Got Talent." Outside of transforming the violin into a rock instrument, the unique thing about her act is that she danced while playing. Stirling was a quarterfinalist and used that exposure to further her own career, with a debut studio album and world tour.

Over the last decade, she has continued touring and releasing music. Now, Stirling has become synonymous with holiday music. Her "Carol of the Bells" covers at live performances often go viral on TikTok.

Lindsey Stirling Christmas albums

Stirling has released seven studio records, two of which are Christmas albums. The first, "Warmer in the Winter," was released in 2017. It consisted of several cover songs with Stirling putting her violin-twist on the holiday classics. She did release three original songs "Christmas C'mon," "Warmer in the Winter" and "Time to Fall in Love."

She released "Snow Waltz" in 2022. It was her sixth studio album and second Christmas album so far. Stirling again covered some well-known holiday songs, while adding in a few of her own. This album saw the release of "Crazy for Christmas," "Snow Waltz," "Magic" and "Ice Storm."

Lindsey Stirling Holiday Tour

Stirling recently wrapped up her summer tour, where she was promoting her latest studio album "Duality" that dropped June 14 of this year. Her tour wraps December 22 at the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
