Former unified welterweight world champion Keith Thurman is booked to fight outside of North America for the first time when he takes on Brock Jarvis at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion on March 12.

In a surprise headliner for No Limit Boxing's first Australian pay-per-view of the year, "One Time" will take on Sydney's Jarvis in an intriguing international showdown.

Thurman, who boasts an impressive 30-1 record, with wins over Shawn Porter, Danny Garcia and Mario Barrios, and his one defeat coming to Manny Pacquiao, will be fighting for the first time in more than three years.

The Floridian was booked to face Tim Tszyu in Las Vegas last March before a biceps injury ruled him out less than two weeks from fight day.

That injury led to Tszyu accepting a late-notice change of opponent to Sebastian Fundora, a fight which the Australian would ultimately lose, changing the trajectory of his career.

Now 36, Thurman will be returning to face the 22-1 Jarvis, who has recently resumed his career at middleweight after more than 18 months out.

"I'm going to warm up my skills and talent, remind people of who Keith Thurman is by beating up some kangaroos," Thurman said in a press conference on Wednesday.

"I'm going to fly over there, I'm going to get me this kangaroo and I'm going to come back to America and I'll come get Tszyu."

Formerly a regional titleholder from bantamweight to lightweight, the 27-year-old suffered a devastating first-round knockout to Liam Paro in the 2022 domestic super lightweight clash.

He's since added two more knockouts wins to his extensive tally, most recently a fourth-round victory over Adrian Rodriguez at middleweight in December.

Following the win, Jarvis called for a fight with the unbeaten Nikita Tszyu.

The result of March's main event looks set to have significant ramifications on the future plans of Thurman, Jarvis and both Tszyu brothers.

"Originally when I got the call, I thought Keith had retired, so it was news to me," Jarvis said.

"I also thought, what an opportunity for me.

"I know he hasn’t knocked anyone out for ten years, he hasn’t fought in three years and pulled out last year with an old man injury."

Meanwhile, Aussie pair Michael Zerafa and Mateo Tapia are both set to feature on the fight card.

Zerafa will take on 19-1 German middleweight Besir Ay, while Tapia's opponent is yet to be confirmed.
