Football on Thanksgiving Day is a tradition unlike any other, as the NFL owns the holiday every year.

As a result, the league treats the triple-header of games differently than a typical NFL Sunday. Each game has special national anthem singers along with allocated halftime show performers.

This year, the national anthem singers include a veteran performer as well as a singer who may be new to a national audience. Here is who will be performing "The Star-Spangled Banner" during before this year's Thanksgiving NFL games.

Lions vs. Bears: Mike Phillips

Phillips is a world-renowned saxophonist who is familiar with performing in front of an NFL audience. In his career, Phillips has six solo saxophone albums, and he has worked with many famous musicians such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and Prince.

Phillips has a long history of performing the national anthem at NFL games, even as recent as before Detroit's divisional round playoff game against the Buccaneers in January. He also played ahead of the 2016 NFC championship game, in which the Falcons beat the Packers.

The saxophonist also has performed "The Star-Spangled Banner" at a variety of sporting events beyond the NFL, including MLB, NBA and even NASCAR.

Cowboys vs. Giants: TBD

This section will be updated when the national anthem singer is announced for the game in the Cowboys' AT&T Stadium.

Packers vs. Dolphins: Jessie G

Jessie G is a country music artist who grew up in Oregon but moved to Nashville to fully pursue her country music career.

She released her debut single, "Army Ranger," in 2018, and some of her other more popular songs include "Whatever This Is," "Cold Feet" and "You Lit a Fire." Her most recent song, "Like My Whiskey," was released earlier this year and also features Grammy Award-winning country music star Gretchen Wilson.
