Round 6 of the 2024–25 A-League Men's campaign begins with a clash between the two westernmost teams in the competition, but at present, Adelaide United and the Perth Glory couldn't be much further apart on the ladder as they prepare to face off at Coopers Stadium.

Hosts Adelaide are fourth in the table after four matches, and are one of only two teams still unbeaten this season having picked up their third straight victory with a 3-2 comeback win over Brisbane Roar during the A-League's UNITE Round in Sydney last time out.

Perth, meanwhile, are feeling anything but the Glory. Winless through five games after last weekend's 3-1 defeat to Western United, Perth remain shackled to the lower reaches of the table. They're above bottom side Brisbane by a solitary point, and it's difficult to see where a first win of the campaign is going to come from.

The Sporting News looks at the key details ahead of this A–League Men's match as Perth look to produce a shock for their first win of the season, including how to watch, kickoff times and all the latest team news with the hosts looking to continue their own unbeaten start.

Adelaide United vs. Perth Glory predicted lineups, team news

Stefan Mauk and Zach Clough's goals both levelled the scores in Adelaide UNITE Round comeback against Brisbane last time out, with Archie Goodwin coming off the bench to net the winner just after the hour mark. He's surely set to come into the starting XI in place of Luka Jovanovic, who could provide a similar impact back on home soil.

Adelaide United predicted XI (4-2-3-1, right to left): Delianov (GK) —Pierias, Vriends, Kikianis, Kitto — Tunnicliffe, Alagich — Clough, Mauk, Ayoubi — Goodwin.

Injured:
Suspended: None

Trent Ostler netted Glory's mere second goal of the season to put them 1-0 up against Western United last time out, but Perth's lead lasted just eight minutes and the Melbourne side had completed their turnaround with another five. David Zdrilic's side need more from the likes of Adam Taggart and David Williams in attack, both of whom are yet to find the net this term.

Perth Glory predicted XI (4-4-2, right to left): Cook (GK) — Risdon, Barr, Canga, Hamzaoui — Ostler, Pennington, Gomulka, Williams — Taggart, Caicedo Castillo.

Injured: None
Suspended: None

Adelaide United vs. Perth Glory prediction

With Adelaide at home, unbeaten, and looking to making it four A-League wins on the bounce, it's hard to see anything other than the three points staying put at Coopers Stadium and Glory remaining without a win. The visitors could well find the net having opened the scoring last time out, but the Reds will be confident in their ability to come back and win should the worst happen.

  • Prediction: Adelaide United 3–1 Perth Glory
