Lleyton Hewitt's son Cruz is among 18 players awarded wildcards into Australian Open qualifying.

Sixteen-year-old Hewitt will aim to emulate father Lleyton, who qualified for the Australian Open as a 15-year-old in 1997.

Seven other Australian men received qualifying wildcards including Marc Polmans and Dane Sweeney, while Australian Open 2024 boys champion - Japan's Rei Sakamoto - has also been given a path to the main draw.

Seven Australian women led by Astra Sharma and Jaimee Fourlis received qualifying wildcards, while Australian Open 2024 girls champion Renata Jamrichova also nabbed a chance.

Grand slam champion Simona Halep was also awarded a wildcard but has since withdrawn through injury. Her replacement is yet to be named.
