Surging Philadelphia rookie Jared McCain gained an unlikely fan recently, with comedy star Shane Gillis revealing he is a massive supporter of the former Duke star.
McCain has been a surprising bright spot for an otherwise deeply disappointing 76ers season so far, surging into contention for Rookie of the Year.
But he has also won over comedian Gillis, who praised the guard on a recent podcast appearance.

Shane Gillis praises star rookie Jared McCain
While McCain's eccentric personality and massive TikTok presence has turned off some in the basketball world, Gillis has claimed that it has only made him like the player more.
"There's a bro I like right now, Jared McCain for the Sixers. He's the guy doing the f***ing TikTok dances. He does not care," Gillis said on his show Matt and Shane’s Secret Podcast.
"He's dropping 30 and doing TikToks. Everyone's mad, dude. Painting his nails and shit.
"I love this dude so much. I DM him and he doesn't answer. I get drunk and DM him 'You're the dude.'"
McCain, who was taken with the 16th pick, has been outstanding for a Philadelphia team that has been anything but, currently 3-13 and second last in the East.
