Joe Rogan wants to see Khamzat Chimaev fight for the UFC middleweight title in his next fight. Chimaev was most recently seen in a co-main event fight against Robert Whittaker at UFC 308.
In what was considered to be his toughest challenge so far, Chimaev secured a first-round victory. "Borz" won the fight via a rear-naked choke applied across the chin. This also ended up shattering Whittaker’s teeth in one of the grisliest finishes in recent history.

Speaking about the same during his Fight Companion Podcast, Rogan suggested that nothing besides a title shot makes sense for Chimaev. While further praising his ability to grapple, the UFC colour commentator said:
“That grappling is next level. He’s a beast. Once he gets a hold of you it’s so dangerous. You give him the title shot. Holy sh*t. He gets a title shot, I think. Not just [beating Whittaker in the first round], but ran through him. He didn’t get touched. He ran through him and strangled him in the first round. He might be the guy. At 185, he’s the f*cking man.”
It is worth noting that Sean Strickland seems to be the one next in line for a title shot against Dricus du Plessis. However, Chimaev will most likely wait to fight the winner of Strickland vs du Plessis 2 for the title in his next fight inside the octagon.
