Rob Whittaker has opened up about a potential timeline for his return. The Australian was last seen in action against Khamzat Chimaev when he suffered a first-round submission loss at UFC 308 in Abu Dhabi.
In the fight, Whittaker sustained some serious damage and his teeth were moved in. It has been revealed that he underwent a procedure to remove and replace the damaged teeth, a dental surgery that also uncovered a sizable cyst in the Australian’s jaw.
While he is still recovering as of now, Whittaker has already thought about when he’s going to fight next. During a recent appearance on the MMArcade, Whittaker gave a timeline for his return to the octagon in 2025 and said:
“I’m going to give a bit of time. I’m not going to rush into the next fight, because there are some things I want to address,” Whittaker said. “I’m probably looking to return in June. June-ish? End of May? I don’t know. We’ll play with the dates next year.”
It is safe to say that Whittaker is focusing on his recovery and will look to display a new and improved “Bobby Knuckles” in 2025.
