During a disastrous 2024 season, the Jets cleaned house seeking to start fresh in all phases of the organization.
Therefore, the team hired a familiar face, as former Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who spent the majority of his playing career with the Jets, is the team's new head coach. Additionally, New York brought in Darren Mougey as the team's new general manager, meaning it's largely a mystery how the team will approach this year's draft.
As usual, the Jets could take a quarterback, but the roster has many areas where it needs improvement in 2025. New York was relatively quiet during free agency, so Mougey and Glenn are looking for a strong showing in their first draft together.
Here's. a breakdown of the Jets picks during the 2025 NFL Draft.

Jets NFL Draft needs
- Quarterback: The Jets' never-ending search for a franchise quarterback continues this year, as the team signed Justin Fields to a two-year deal in free agency. However, that likely won't stop New York from taking a quarterback in this year's draft, though it probably won't happen with their first pick. Instead, the Jets will probably target a signal-caller on the second day of the draft, allowing the prospect to sit behind Fields instead of competing with him.
- Defensive Line: A few years ago, the Jets had a dominant defensive line, but the unit took a major step back last year. While Quinnen Williams is still one of the best in the league, the talent around him needs an upgrade to help improve a group that struggled mightily in 2024.
- Wide Receiver: Garrett Wilson's spot at the top of the depth chart is concrete, but the Jets are shockingly thin behind Wilson. Veteran Allen Lazard has been a disappointment so far, but he enters the summer as the team's No. 2, while sophomore Malachi Corley is currently third despite minimal impact in his rookie season. Although the Jets added a few veterans in free agency, they need to add some athleticism in the passing game.
- Tight End: Similar to wide receiver, the Jets tight end room is very thin entering the draft, which could lead to them taking one of the top tight ends in the first round.
