"The Last Stylebender" will look to bounce back from his defeat at the hands of current middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 305 in Perth.

Adesanya has fallen short in his last two outings which marks the first back-to-back losing streak in his illustrious career.

He now has a fight in the works with streaking middleweight contender Nassourdine Imavov.

The plan is for this matchup to headline the UFC's upcoming fight night in Saudi Arabia on the 2nd of February. Knockoutalerts were first to report the news and MMAMania.com has since confirmed that this is the fight that is being targeted.

This would be Adesanya's first non-title bout since he fought Anderson Silva at UFC 234 almost five years ago.

It would also be the first offering not on pay-per-view for Adesanya since he fought Brad Tavares on the Ultimate Fighter finale all the way back in 2018.

His opponent, French standout Nassourdine Imavov is riding a three-fight win streak with marquee wins over top contenders including Jared Cannonier and Brendan Allen.

Imavov is a well-rounded fighter with three stoppages in the UFC. Hailing from Dagestan, he has the grappling chops of many other great fighters from that region, but has also developed his striking under the tutelage of the coaches at the MMA Factory in Paris who has produced names like Cyril Gane and Francis Ngannou.

There's been a lot of speculation about what direction Adesanya would want to take his career in 2025 and beyond.

The potential of a trilogy with light-heavyweight champion Alex Pereira is an ace up the sleeve of the UFC matchmakers which could be drawn on at any time given the history between both men.

For now, Adesanya will look to rebuild his stock at middleweight in an attempt to stay in the immediate title picture. However, it won't be in Australia as many would have hoped on the upcoming UFC 312 card taking place in Sydney on February 9.
