Following the retentions from all 10 Indian Premier League teams getting official at the end of October, the proceedings move to the Saudi Arabian land of Jeddah for a two-day auction where 577 names will go under the hammer after getting shortlisted from the pool of 1,574 registered players.

This auction for the 2025 season is set to break all the records with an additional 20 crores in the purse as compared to the last auction's 100 crores.

Marquee Indian names like Rishabh Pant, the 2024 IPL-winning captain, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, speedsters Arshdeep Singh, Mohammad Shami, and Mohammad Siraj will be among the names to watch out for.

We will also have some exciting uncapped players like the teenage sensation, Angkrish Raghuvwanshi, middle-order batter, Ashutosh Sharma, speedster, Vaibhav Arora, Anshul Kamboj, Rashikh Salam Dar and Akash Madhwal will be among the top targets for the teams.

The other notable big names in the auction list will be the all-time highest wicket-taker, Yuzvendra Chahal, and multiple times IPL winners Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishan Kishan who will also fetch a good load of money.

While we talk about the overseas stars, last year's champion, Phil Salt, the experienced campaigner, Jos Buttler, Kagiso Rabada, and Jofra Archer are expected to take home big bucks from Jeddah.

Archer returns to the Pink city having made his IPL debut for Rajasthan. They tipped Mumbai Indians to secure the services of Archer for a whopping sum of 12.5 crores. 

08:23 pm: Kolkata bag Anrich Nortje for INR 6.50 Crore! Former Delhi Capitals pacer Anrich Nortje switches sides to Kolkata, who acquires the Protean for a healthy price of 6.50 Crore. Nortje will spearhead the fast-bowling unit in place of Mitchell Starc for the IPL 2024 winners. 

08:20 pm: Lucknow bag Avesh Khan for INR 9.75 Crore! Avesh will represent the Lucknow-based outfit for the second time, in their four-year history. The Indian pacer returns to the EKANA, and will team up with Mohsin Khan and Mayank Yadav to form a formidable core of lethal Indian pacers. 

08:13 pm: GT secure Prasidh Krishna for INR 9.50 Crore! The former RR man will play for the Ahmedabad-based outfit in 2025. Despite missing on the previous two seasons due to injury, Krishna bagged a ransom of 9.5 Crores in Jeddah. With Siraj, Rabada, and now Krishna, that is some bowling unit assembled by the Titans!

08:07 pm: RCB secure Josh Hazlewood for INR 12.50 Crore! The Bengaluru-based outfit beat the likes of MI, LSG, and KKR to acquire the services of the Aussie pacer. Hazlewood represented the Red and Bold previously, and will don the jersey in IPL 2025, yet again. 

08:03 pm: RCB secure Jitesh Sharma For INR 11 Crore! Jitesh Sharma goes to RCB for INR 11 Crore after a bidding war involving CSK, LSG, and DC. PBKS chose not to use their RTM card, allowing RCB to secure the talented wicketkeeper batter.

07:57 pm: SRH secure Ishan Kishan For INR 11.25 Crore! Initially, MI showed interest, but eventually pulled out. DC and PBKS then raised their bids, but SRH entered the race at INR 10.25 Crore and managed to secure him for INR 11.25 Crore. 

07:52 pm: KKR secure Rahmanullah Gurbaz for INR 2 Crore! KKR have pulled off a smart acquisition, securing Afghanistan's wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz for the base price of INR 2 Crore. 

07:49 pm: RCB acquire Phil Salt for INR 11.5 Crore! The bidding for England's explosive batter heats up quickly as MI kick off the bidding. However, it’s RCB and KKR who take charge, with RCB eventually securing Salt’s services for INR 11.5 Crore.

07:39 pm: Jonny Bairstow goes unsold! The English wicketkeeper-batter, fails to attract any bids at the auction and remains unsold.

07:38 pm: Quinton de Kock heads to KKR for INR 3.6 Crore! The bidding starts with SRH and MI, with Mumbai showing interest in reuniting with their former star. However, KKR secured de Kock for INR 3.6 Crore.

07:22 pm: Glenn Maxwell returns to PBKS for INR 4.2 Crore! Initially, it seemed like he might go unsold, but SRH made a late attempt to bid for him. However, PBKS quickly jumped in, inflating the price. Despite a brief intervention from CSK, PBKS ultimately secured Maxwell for INR 4.2 Crore.

07:17 pm: Mitchell Marsh Joins Lucknow Super Giants! The Australian all-rounder enters the auction with a base price of INR 2 Crore. After a back-and-forth, LSG secure the Aussie power-hitter at INR 3.4 Crore. Delhi Capitals decide not to use their RTM, sealing the deal for Marsh to head to LSG.

07:13 pm: Punjab Kings secure Marcus Stoinis for INR 11 Crore! The Australian all-rounder created a stir in the auction with strong interest from both PBKS and CSK. In the end, it was Punjab Kings who sealed the deal for INR 11 Crore.

07:08 pm: Venkatesh Iyer returns to KKR for a whopping INR 23.75 Crore! After LSG initially challenged KKR, RCB entered the fray, pushing the bid past INR 20 Crore. The competition intensified, with the bid jumping to over 23 Crore, but ultimately, KKR prevailed.

06:35 pm: Chennai Super Kings Snatch Devon Conway For INR 6.25 Crore! The first player Chennai Super Kings have snapped up today is New Zealand's opener. After some competition from Punjab Kings, CSK managed to retain their man for INR 6.25 Crore.

06:31 pm: Lucknow Super Giants have secured a bargain by picking up South African skipper Aiden Markram for his base price of INR 2 crore. This move has come as a major steal for LSG, who now add the talented Proteas captain to their lineup.

06:28 pm: Harry Brook Joins Delhi Capitals For INR 6.25 Crore! The bidding for English star kicks off with CSK at INR 2 Crore, but quickly heats up as SRH and PBKS enter the fray. In the end, Delhi Capitals secure the explosive batter for INR 6.25 Crore.

05:24 pm: KL Rahul Joins Delhi Capitals for INR 14 Crore! KL Rahul is secured by Delhi Capitals for a whopping INR 14 crore. The bidding war between RCB and KKR reached fever pitch, but DC managed to outbid them, despite a brief surge from CSK. The highly sought-after wicketkeeper batter is now a key addition to Delhi's lineup.

05:18 pm: Liam Livingstone Joins RCB for INR 8.75 Crore! The England all-rounder, has been snapped up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a hefty INR 8.75 crore. 

PBKS opted not to use their Right-to-Match (RTM) card, allowing RCB to secure the powerful middle-order batter and handy bowler. 

05:12 pm: Gujarat Titans Secure Mohammed Siraj for INR 12.25 Crores Gujarat Titans secured Mohammed Siraj for INR 12.25 crores in a thrilling bidding war. Both Rajasthan Royals and GT were battling fiercely for the pacer, but as the bids soared, RR stepped back, and GT emerged victorious.

Despite having the Right-to-Match (RTM) card, RCB chose not to use it, allowing Gujarat to bag one of India's premier fast bowlers.
