Jiri Prochazka is set to take on Jamahal Hill at UFC 311. The first pay-per-view of the new year will bring a lot of action for the fans and with this light-heavyweight matchup between two former champions, the event has gotten a lot more interesting.

Prochazka was last seen inside the octagon at UFC 303 in June when he challenged Alex Pereira for the light heavyweight title. However, he lost the bout via second-round TKO.

Hill was also seen in action against ‘Poatan' in his last fight, losing via first-round knockout at UFC 300 in April. With both men losing their previous bout, the urge to get back to winning ways will certainly be evident in both fighters as the fight approaches.

The Prochazka vs Hill matchup will likely have significant implications on the division's title picture as aside from Magomed Ankalaev the division does not have any clear contenders at the moment.

UFC 311 will go down at the Intuit Done in Los Angeles on January 18 (19 in Australia) and while the headliners are not confirmed as of yet, it is believed that the card will be headlined by a UFC lightweight championship fight between Islam Makhachev and Arman Tsarukyan.
