Ezra Mam’s future with Brisbane hangs in the balance after the Broncos five-eighth was officially charged by police for a car accident which left multiple people injured.
Mam failed a roadside drug test after his ute veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with an Uber carrying two passengers.
A second sample has now reportedly come back positive with Mam charged by police with one count of drive while relevant drug is present in blood, and driving without a license.

Will Ezra Mam be sacked by Brisbane? Broncos star charged by police
"The club was notified this afternoon that charges have now been laid," Brisbane noted in a statement.
"We will respect the legal process and will continue to work with the NRL Integrity Unit on next steps, as this matter moves forward."
Mam is scheduled to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, December 16.
Yet while the 21-year-old has been charged by police, he has not yet been stood down under the NRL's No Fault Stand Down policy.
However, his future at Red Hill remains uncertain due to the seriousness of the circumstances.
External pressure is sure to be applied onto the club to part ways with the playmaker, particularly given the injuries suffered by the victims, including a four-year-old girl.
Although it is worth noting that new head coach Michael Maguire has publicly backed Mam before the official police charge was issued.
"I’m not even going to touch on that at the moment," Maguire replied when asked if Mam could be axed from the Broncos.
"We haven’t spoken in depth on it but it’s obviously a serious matter and we’re treating it like that," Brisbane CEO Dave Donaghy added.
"Once we’ve got all the information, we’ll be able to work through from there and work out the next course of action."
Ezra Mam contract: Broncos five-eighth's future in doubt
Mam inked a bumper contract extension off the back of a breakout 2023 NRL campaign, which was set to tie him to the Broncos until the end of 2029 on a deal worth around $4 million.
However, after a disappointing season which saw the club slip from grand finalists to also-rans situated outside the top-eight, Mam has endured a turbulent off-season.
Prior to the car accident, he made headlines during a trip to Bali with Reece Walsh, when he reportedly had to replace a fan’s phone after it was broken following a run-in with the duo.
Meanwhile, Mam is currently still in rehab and separated from the Broncos after he checked himself into a facility following the car crash.
"Ezra is currently seeking external support and we will give him the time and space to do so," Donaghy added.
"As the matter is now before the courts, we are unable to make further comment on this matter."
