The Rock Roman Reigns WrestleMania 40
(WWE)

WrestleMania 40 lived up to its expectations and delivered one of the greatest WWE matches of all-time as Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson returned to the ring at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The match was billed as the 'Bloodline Rules' match with severe implications on the main event of Night Two of WrestleMania 40, as The Rock teamed up with his cousin Roman Reigns. They would face former Shield and current WWE World Heavyweight Championship holder Seth Rollins as well as 'The American Nightmare' Cody Rhodes.

The build up to this game had been incredible. Earlier this week, on Monday Night Raw, The Rock, who claimed himself to be "The Final Boss", unleashed all his wrath on Rhodes and beat him in the locker room as well as the parking area of the arena. The Rock even trash talked about Rhodes' mother.

Who won the Roman Reigns-The Rock vs Seth Rollins-Cody Rhodes tag team match at WrestleMania 40?

The match was won by The Rock and Roman Reigns. It was The Rock's first major victory in a WWE bout in a long, long time.

The regular rules should have been in effect because the match was intended to be a typical tag team match. Rather, they engaged in combat throughout the arena, with The Rock threatening to fire referee Chad Patton if he counted them out.

The Rock has returned as a heel persona this time around, and has made Cody Rhodes his target ever since he came back. That was totally on display during the match as the fight was full of intensity and emotions.

After the bell, all four men engaged in a prolonged staredown until Rollins and Reigns made the decision to start for their respective sides. The Visionary was promptly taken out by The Tribal Chief, who also trash-talked about finishing the match quickly.

Rhodes attempted to take the initiative as he tagged in, but he soon found himself on the defensive. Rocky simply knocked him down, but The Visionary just grinned and briefly outwitted The Great One to brag.

Things picked up when Rhodes and The Rock were in the ring together. The first few minutes were just brief posturing and exchanges.

Rhodes delivered a Rock Bottom on The Rock through the announcer's table, and then Reigns speared Rollins through the barricade, thus making the match even better.

Rhodes managed to get them back into the ring, but Reigns was able to recover. Meanwhile, Rollins was still injured on the outside.

Rhodes was able to gather enough composure to hit two consecutive Cross Rhodes, but a third was too impulsive and The Rock struck him with his weight belt. Then came a spear. The finish was in sight as The Rock tagged in.

Rhodes was hit with a Rock Bottom first, and then The People's Elbow to put the icing on the cake. "One, two, three!" The Rock had pinned Rhodes as they won the match.
