The 2024/25 Premier League season is well underway with Manchester City yet again leading the table with three wins from three and the best goal difference thanks to hat-tricks from Erling Haaland.
Arne Slot's Liverpool are also up there with Pep Guardiola's side as they have won all three matches, their latest coming against arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The one thing that fans may notice is that there are no scheduled fixtures on September 7, 8 or 9.
The Sporting News explains why there will be no games this weekend after an exciting start to the new Premier League campaign.

Why are there no Premier League games this weekend?
The Premier League is taking a break for the weekend of September 7-8 due to a scheduled window for international fixtures.
For most players in England, the international break means exchanging Premier League for UEFA Nations League action or 2026 World Cup qualifying, while others represent their countries around the globe in friendly matches. Those not selected for their national squads will remain at their clubs to train.
